After spending their first year of marriage in Keystone, Colorado working on the ski slopes, Corey and Olivia returned to China for three years where Corey led a city-wide ministry focused on church planting, evangelism and discipleship. During these years, Corey and Olivia helped start two new campus ministries, planted an indigenous church and served on a regional leadership team.

Joe Jackson - Worship Leader

Joe was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Yardley, PA.  After graduating from the University of Virginia (BS in Chemistry, 2000), Joe matriculated into UVA’s School of Medicine. He then moved to North Carolina in 2004 for his Pediatric Residency at Duke University. He then joined the teaching faculty at Duke and works as an Assistant Professor in the Duke School of Medicine. His areas of focus include medical student education and the intersection of theology and medicine.

Joe met his best friend (now wife) Kisa Jackson, during their first week of college. Together they experienced many moments worshiping God together in the university’s Gospel choir, at their local church and with friends around campus. Since moving to Durham Joe has continued to lead worship in various contexts within the local church. Joe and Kisa have six children, Joseph III, Joshua, Noah, Gabriel, Elias and Lydia.

Some of Joe’s most enjoyable activities include spending time with Kisa trying to satisfy her ‘foodie’ tendencies at various restaurants in the Triangle. As a family they enjoy laughing together, singing together and watching/playing sports together. Joe has a long time love for soccer and enjoys getting out on the soccer field for some good exercise.
