Corey Jackson - Senior Pastor
Corey was born and raised in Birmingham, AL and attended Auburn University. After graduating in 1998, he moved to China where he studied Mandarin and served as a missionary with a campus organization. While ministering in Asia he began dating Olivia. They returned to the U.S. and were married in the summer of 2000.
After spending their first year of marriage in Keystone, Colorado working on the ski slopes, Corey and Olivia returned to China for three years where Corey led a city-wide ministry focused on church planting, evangelism and discipleship. During these years, Corey and Olivia helped start two new campus ministries, planted an indigenous church and served on a regional leadership team.
They returned to the U.S. in 2005 for Corey to attend graduate school at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando where he received his Masters of Divinity. While in seminary, Corey oversaw the sending of over 100 short term international missions projects to 34 nations around the world. After finishing his studies at RTS, Corey served two years at Peace Presbyterian Church as an Assistant Pastor. Then, in the spring of 2010, Corey was sent out to plant Trinity Park Church in the Morrisville/North Cary community.
Corey and Olivia have two sons, Jordan and Joshua, and two daughters, Camille and Claire. Besides spending time with Olivia and the kids, Corey enjoys world travel, eating ethnic food, running, golf, hiking and reading with a good cup of coffee.
Andy Ew - Assistant Pastor
Andy was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After graduating from Charles Sturt University in Australia, he joined Operation Mobilization for 3 years, living and serving as a missionary onboard the Logos II ship. Through this experience onboard, he was drawn to cross-cultural ministry and was passionate to see people from all tribes and tongues come to know Christ. Then he came to the US in 2007 to attend Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. During this time, Andy met Amanda who was getting her MA degree at RTS Jackson and they were married the summer of 2010. Upon graduating from RTS, the Lord called them to Philadelphia Bible Reformed Church in 2011 where Andy served as an English Pastor for 4 years.
Andy and Amanda have two sons, Anderson and Jackson. Apart from spending time with his family, Andy enjoys playing and watching sports especially soccer and basketball. He also enjoys a variety of movies and music.
Joe Jackson - Worship Leader
Joe was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Yardley, PA. After graduating from the University of Virginia (BS in Chemistry, 2000), Joe matriculated into UVA’s School of Medicine. He then moved to North Carolina in 2004 for his Pediatric Residency at Duke University. He then joined the teaching faculty at Duke and works as an Assistant Professor in the Duke School of Medicine. His areas of focus include medical student education and the intersection of theology and medicine.
Joe met his best friend (now wife) Kisa Jackson, during their first week of college. Together they experienced many moments worshiping God together in the university’s Gospel choir, at their local church and with friends around campus. Since moving to Durham Joe has continued to lead worship in various contexts within the local church. Joe and Kisa have six children, Joseph III, Joshua, Noah, Gabriel, Elias and Lydia.
Some of Joe’s most enjoyable activities include spending time with Kisa trying to satisfy her ‘foodie’ tendencies at various restaurants in the Triangle. As a family they enjoy laughing together, singing together and watching/playing sports together. Joe has a long time love for soccer and enjoys getting out on the soccer field for some good exercise.
Laura Guthrie - Office Administrator
Laura is a Tennessean who moved to Durham, North Carolina in June of 2015. Her life in Tennessee was spent mostly in her hometown of Knoxville, where she learned to love the Smokey Mountains, hiking, Pat Summit, and avoid all things University of Tennessee football related. Following her passion for learning, Laura attended Tennessee Technological University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in History.
Laura loves to travel and plan trips, thus far she has been to Europe four times and cannot wait to go back! Laura spent her childhood growing up in a PCA church plant and is excited to be a part of Trinity Park Church.
Haley Walley - Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Haley was born and raised in Altamonte Springs, FL - just north of Orlando. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors degree in Family and Child Sciences and moved to NC in 2012. Shortly after moving to the area, she began dating Trinity Park member, Jason Walley and were married in April 2013. Jason and Haley have one daughter, Amelia, who was born in May 2016.
Haley loves to bake, be outside, and play sports. She enjoys being a full-time mom and investing her time in taking care of Amelia, as well as spending time with family.
Kimberly Usher - Nursery Coordinator
Kimberly was born and raised in Goldsboro, NC were she met her husband Kenneth Usher in 1999. She later married her High School sweetheart in 2001. After living in Texas for two years they moved to Cary, NC in 2004. Kimberly & Kenneth have two children, Jahir and Janiya Usher.
Kimberly has been loving and caring for children every since the age of 16. In her free time she enjoys hiking, traveling, beaches, shopping, and relaxing with a great movie.
Kimberly is thrilled to be a part of the Trinity Park family!
Olivia Jackson - Assistant Children's Coordinator
Olivia Jackson was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. She attended Auburn University and graduated with a degree in Communication Disorders. Shortly after her time at Auburn, Olivia moved to China where she studied Mandarin and worked with a Campus Ministry in Evangelism and Discipleship.
She and Corey dated in China and moved back to the states to be married in 2000. After spending a year in Colorado working as a travel agent for Vail Resorts and skiing and hiking every chance she could get, she & Corey moved back to China to serve three more years with a Campus Ministry. There she trained and discipled leaders in the ministry and became a mom for the first time as she gave birth to her son Jordan in 2004. In 2006 she, Corey, and Jordan moved back to the states for Corey to attend RTS in Orlando. In Orlando, God blessed her with another son, Joshua.
Corey and Olivia moved to Cary, NC in 2008 following a call from the Lord to plant a multicultural church. In North Carolina, the Lord blessed Olivia with two daughters, Camille and Claire. Currently, Olivia is being trained to lead and coach church planters wives through the ministry of Parakaleo.
Most of Olivia’s time is spent caring for her four children and hanging out with her family. But you’ll find her outdoors running, gardening, skiing, or hiking whenever she gets the chance.
Charlie Smith - Summer Intern
Charlie was born in Cary, NC and is a recent graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, where he focused his studies in Economics and Spanish. He invested much of his time over the last four years serving with Young Life, a youth outreach ministry, in Durham at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. He currently lives in Cary but will move to Charlottesville, Virginia in August to begin a year in the Fellows Initiative through Trinity Presbyterian Church while working as a Research Assistant with a UVA Economics Professor.
Charlie has enjoyed learning the Spanish language through multiple trips to the city of Santiago in the Dominican Republic, where he has studied abroad, served in an orphanage, and worked at a local Young Life camp. Charlie is a lover of adventure and road trips, which resulted in him driving out to Phoenix this April to see his Tar Heels win the National Championship. Additionally, he enjoys reading and will readily accept any reading recommendations offered to him. Charlie also tries to play sports as much as possible, especially basketball, baseball, and distance running.
Charlie’s short-term hopes and dreams include finding and investing himself in a specific vocation, learning to better listen to God and other people, and resting and adventuring more often. He is excited to be a part of Trinity Park this summer and hopes to be very available, especially with the youth ministry
